Sheeja Anand, aged 41, has been employed as a caretaker in Israel for more than seven years. According to reports from the news agency ANI, she sustained injuries during the attack and subsequently underwent surgery. Fortunately, her condition is now reported as stable, and she is out of immediate danger.
The ordeal unfolded when Sheeja Anand, in an attempt to assure her family in India of her safety, initiated a video call. Tragically, the call was abruptly terminated due to the rocket attack, causing great concern for her family. Later, a colleague from Kerala conveyed the distressing news to Sheeja’s family, disclosing that she had been injured during the attack and had already undergone surgery. Furthermore, it was revealed that she would be transferred to another hospital for additional medical procedures.

Sheeja Anand’s husband and their two children reside in Pune, Maharashtra, while she hails from Kerala’s Kannur district. Reports indicate that several individuals from Kerala are currently stranded in Israel due to the ongoing conflict with the Hamas terrorist group.
Additionally, a group of pilgrims from Kerala, who had embarked on a journey to visit holy sites in Jordan and Palestine before reaching Israel, has found themselves caught up in the conflict. Despite clashes following a Hamas attack, the pilgrims have assured their families in Kerala of their safety.
The Israel-Hamas war, which commenced on October 7, has already claimed the lives of approximately 1,600 individuals. Israel’s security cabinet has formally declared a state of war against Hamas. The conflict has resulted in 900 casualties and 2,300 injuries in Israel, while the Gaza Strip has witnessed 700 Palestinian casualties, including 140 children, along with 4,000 injuries.
