Amreli: A CCTV video of two dogs taking on the lions to save livestock has gone viral on social media. The incident has been reported from Savarkundla in Amreli district of Gujarat.
Several videos of big cats enjoying in the wild have gone viral of late. But the latest video shows an unusual encounter between dogs and lions. The canines saved the livestock at a cowshed in Savarkundla area.
In the video, two lions could be seen ‘challenging’ the lions outside the cowshed gate.
The dogs were kept at the cowshed to guard the animals. Seeing the threat, the dogs immediately swung into action and started to bark at the big cats.
Despite heavy blows of the lions on iron gate, the dogs courageously stood their ground and continued barking at the big cats and forcing them to flee. The dramatic clash was captured on the CCTV installed at the cowshed.
The spot where the ‘clash’ took place is around 76-km away from Gir National Park. The sanctuary is home to Asiatic lion in the country.
