Mata Sharda Temple Shines After 75 Years
Ravinder Pandita expressed happiness over the Diwali celebrations, highlighting the temple’s revival efforts. The Sharda Devi temple, located near the Line of Control at a distance of about 40 km from Teetwal village, witnessed prayers and traditional Diwali rituals, bringing back the vibrant spirit of the festival.
The temple, inaugurated on March 22, 2023, underwent extensive reconstruction after being burnt during tribal raids in 1947. Its historic significance lies in its connection to the pilgrimage route to Sharda Peeth temple in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, making it a revered destination for devotees seeking blessings and cultural heritage.
