The Meteorological Center in Dehradun has issued a yellow alert for Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, predicting heavy rain. Additionally, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, and Rudraprayag districts may experience intense rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Cloudy weather in Dehradun

Though capital Dehradun witnessed some showers in the last three days when weather remained clear in most parts of the state, the IMD has forecasted a cloudy weather for Dehradun on Tuesday. The number of pilgrims is expected to increase gradually

After incessant rains in Uttarakhand on 12 and 13 September, over 400 road and highways were blocked amid landslides and rockfalls. More than 40 pilgrims, stuck at various places, were rescued on Adi Kailash pilgrimage route on Sunday by SDRF, NDRF and Airforce helicopters. After the cloudburst incident on 31 July in the Kedarnath region, the Kedarnath route was damaged at 29 places, halting the yatra for several days. In the last two days, after the weather conditions improved, an increase in the number of pilgrims was seen. Now the number of pilgrims is expected to rise gradually, but before that, another round of monsoon can be seen with heavy rains in the state.

IMD advised people to stay alert

The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious during the journey in view of the danger of landslides in the hilly districts. The rivers in the state are still in spate so IMD has also advised people to stay away from overflowing rivers, streams, particularly in low-lying areas.
