New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday replied to a social media user X. who had requested to provide relief to the middle class. Notably, the minister had earlier requested while responding to a previous message by the minister. Sharing his post, Sitharaman said that his input is valuable and that the government attends to people’s voices.
X user’s message to Sitharaman
Taking to X, a social media user, identified as Tushar Sharma, said that while he understands the challenges faced by the government, but still his “heartfelt request” to the minister to consider providing some relief for the middle class.
“We deeply appreciate your efforts and contributions to the country, and you have our utmost admiration. I humbly request you to consider providing some relief for the middle class. I understand the immense challenges involved, but it’s just a heartfelt request,” his message on X read. Soon, the minister shared a post with verses composed by a member of the erstwhile Royal Family of Travancore. Which were published in The Sunday Guardian. In her reply to Tushar, Sitharaman responded by saying that appreciated his concern.

Sitharaman’s response to X user’s message

Tushar’s request to the minister has come at a time amid increasing inflation, which has become a big worry for the middle-class citizens in India. India’s retail inflation was recorded at 6.21% in October, breaching the upper tolerance level of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The same month, the food inflation was at 10.87%, as against 9.24 percent in September, the National Statistics Office data showed.
