New Delhi: During a recent operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip, three terrorists were killed, one of whom may be Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar.
In a joint announcement, the IDF and ISA stated: “During IDF operations in Gaza, three terrorists were eliminated. We are investigating the possibility that one of them was Yahya Sinwar. At this stage, the identities of the terrorists cannot be confirmed. There were no indications of hostages in the area where the terrorists were targeted. The operating forces are continuing their actions with the necessary caution.”
As the chief architect of the October 7 attacks and a key player in Hamas’s military strategy, Sinwar’s potential absence could lead to a shift in power, possibly resulting in internal conflicts as various factions compete for control.
