New Delhi: Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has moved the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the First Information Report (FIR) and framing of charges against him in sexual harassment case registered on the complaint of six women wrestlers.
Singh’s plea is listed for hearing on Thursday before Justice Neena Bansal Krishna.
Trial court on May 21 framed charges of sexual harassment against Singh
A trial court in the national capital had on May 21 framed charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and outraging the modesty of women against the former WFI chief in the sexual harassment case lodged by women wrestlers.
Singh has pleaded not guilty to offence of sexual harassment charges framed against him
The former WFI chief has pleaded not guilty to the offence of sexual harassment charges framed against him with respect to five women wrestlers and claimed trial. The court had earlier discharged him in complaint filed by one of six women wrestlers who had lodged complaint against Singh for sexual harassment.
Singh, in his plea before the High Court has claimed that he has been falsely implicated in the sexual harassment case and has said that no offence was committed by him as alleged by the prosecution in the case. He has further submitted that the investigation in the case was carried out by the Delhi Police in a biased manner and the investigating agency considered only the version of the victims, who were interested in taking revenge against him.
Women wrestlers have accused former Singh of sexual harassment
Women Wrestlers have accused the former WFI chief of sexual harassment and two First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered by the Delhi Police against Singh on two complaints lodged by women wrestlers alleging sexual harassment.

While one FIR was registered against Singh was lodged on the complaint of six major wrestlers, the other FIR was registered against him under provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
While the Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against the former WFI on the complaint of six wrestlers, it has filed a closure report before a court in the national capital in complaint of minor wrestler seeking dropping of POCSO case against him and court is yet to pronounce its order on the closure report filed by the Delhi Police.
