Heavy rains in Delhi
The heavy rain on Wednesday evening greatly disrupted life in the national capital, which faced a ‘red’ weather alert. Large parts of the city were submerged, traffic came to a standstill on major roads and many residents were left stranded as streets turned into rivers. Due to the severe downpour, the weather department included Delhi in its National Flash Flood Guidance Bulletin as an ‘area of concern.’ The department advised residents to stay indoors, secure their windows and doors, and avoid unnecessary travel.
