Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday elected Sunil Sharma as the Leader of the legislature party in Jammu and Kashmir. With this, the former minister is ready to take over the role of the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.
In the recently concluded elections in the state, the party won 29 seats. This was the first time that the party became the main opposition party in the Union Territory. In 2015, when Jammu and Kashmir was a state, the BJP formed the government, along with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
