Delhi: Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena on Tuesday took a dig at Aam Aaadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal over the party’s lose in the recently concluded Assembly polls. Accusing hom of making several inappropriate statements about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added that the people of Delhi have given him response to that in polls.
Speaking to reporters, Saxena added that Kejriwal claimed PM Modi would have to take another birth to win Delhi. He added that whenever anybody consider other person small, it meant that the other person was watching from great distance or with ego.
‘Kejriwal made several inappropriate statements about PM Modi’
“There is no doubt that Kejriwal has made several inappropriate statements about the Prime Minister. He even claimed that the PM would have to take another birth to win Delhi. But whenever someone considers another person small, it only means they are either watching from a great distance or seeing with their ego,” he was quoted as saying.
Notably in the recent Assembly polls, BJP 48 seats while AAP won in 22 seats in 70-member Assembly. Kejriwal himself lost to BJP’s Parvesh Verma from New Delhi seat by a margin of 4,089 votes.
On AAP leader Atishi being named temporary Chief Minister, Saxena added, “Yes, it is true that they made Atishi CM temporarily, as Kejriwal himself had said he would return as CM if AAP won. However, the Supreme Court has barred him from signing any files or entering the CM’s office.”
New govt will focus on BJP’s manifesto: VK Saxena
Earlier, addressing the first session of the Delhi Assembly after elections, Saxena said that the new government would would focus on development work for the people of Delhi and follow the Viksit Delhi Sankalp Patra, the party’s manifesto. Earlier, all MLAs took oath on the first day of the Assembly on February 24.
