New Delhi: Five people including Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s wife Nikita Singhania have been booked in connection with the suicide of the techie. All are absconding as of now. After filing of the case, the Bengaluru Police have initiated probe into the alleged suicide of Atul Subhash.
Meanwhile, the Bengaluru techie’s father Pawan Subhas has exclusively spoken to TV9 Network about the entire controversy and the death of his son. Pawan Subhash has also levelled serious allegations against his daughter-in-law.
‘Atul was under pressure after marriage’
According to Pawan, Atul was under pressure after marriage. “He (Atul Subhash) accepted her (Nikita) all demands and wishes. He also used to drop Nikita to her office 17-km away and bring her back too. Half of his day was spent in travelling,” Pawan Subhash told TV9 Network.
“The two got married on April 17, 2019 in Banaras city. Later, they moved to Samastipur in Bihar. However, Nikita stayed with us only until April 29 and never returned to her in-laws home. Atul never shared with us the kind of harassment he was enduring while he stayed with wife. He silently endured all this pain,” added Pawan
‘Baseless allegations by Nikta against Atul’
Atul Subhash’s father further added, “Pawan “Atul never drank liquor. Nor he indulged in any kind of drugs. Despite this, Nikita levelled baseless allegations against him. After a court order, Atul initially started sending Rs 20,000 monthly as maintenance to Nikita. Later, this amount increased to Rs 40,000. Eventually, this was raised to Rs 80,000, including arrears. Mu son broke down under this huge financial burden.”
How the couple’s relationship deteriorated
Pawan said that initially the couple was living happily. “The turning point in their relationship came when Atul called his mother-in-law to Bengaluru to stay with them during the COVID-19 pandemic when Nikita contracted Covid. This decision of Atul became a nightmare for him. Nikita’s mother started asking for money from Atul. She had already taken Rs 16 lakh from him and was demanding additional Rs 50 lakh with a promise to pay the amount with interest,” said Pawan.
The suicide by Atul Subhash has caused outraged across the country and raised questions over the misuse of dowry laws for harassing husbands.
