New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party accused Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being “arrogant” and skipping greeting President Droupadi Murmu during the 75th Constitution Day event held in old Parliament building on Tuesday.
Sharing the purported video, BJP leader Amit Malviya alleged that the Congress leader didn’t greet her because she hails from the tribal community.
In a post on X in Hindi, Malviya wrote: “Rahul Gandhi is so arrogant that he did not even greet the President. Just because she comes from the tribal community, is a woman and Rahul Gandhi is the prince of Congress? What kind of a cheap mentality is this?”
कैसी घटिया मानसिकता है ये? pic.twitter.com/shtP5s2dxs

In another post, he said, “Rahul Gandhi can’t hold his attention for even 50 seconds and he had the audacity to make an absolutely distasteful comment on the President of United States.”
BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan accused Rahul Gandhi of having “dynastic entitlement and arrogance”. He wrote on X, “Such is the dynastic entitlement and arrogance of Rahul Gandhi, he does not bother to wish the Hon’ble Rashtrapati jil.”
Another BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari also alleged that the Gandhi family harbours hate against tribals. “Everyone greeted the President of India, except Rahul Gandhi! Why does the Vadra Gandhi family hate Tribals so much? Rahul Gandhi is anti tribal!” he claimed.
‘Our Constitution is a living and progressive document’
On Tuesday, President Murmu addressed the joint sitting of the Parliament on Constitution Day, and underlined the importance of the Indian Constitution in shaping the nation.
She said, “Today, we are all part and partners of a historic event. Seventy-five years ago, the Constitutional Council completed a major task of creating a Constitution for a newly independent country in this very centre of the Constitutional Council.” Murmu added, “Our Constitution is a living and progressive document. Through our Constitution, we have achieved the goals of social justice and inclusive development.”
