New Delhi: This Diwali, cine-goers will have a double Diwali dhamaka with two much-anticipated releases of the year, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. Just ahead of the highly-anticipated releases, the battle over screen sharing has taken an ugly turn. In a dramatic twist, T-Series, who are the producers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, have approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and have alleged unfair practices by the makers of Singham Again.
What did T-Series allege?
The production house, T-Series, seeking a fair distribution of screens for both the Diwali releases and has proposed a 50-50% split for both, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. As per a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Rohit Shetty’s directorial are calling dibs for 60% of the shows in PVR Inox cinemas. Additionally, they are “forcing” single-screen theatres to dedicate every show to Singham Again, leaving Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with fewer show slots and that too, morning shows for a horror-comedy film.
The source was quoted as saying, “They have allowed some single screens to play Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, with the condition that the horror comedy should be given only one show, that too in the early morning slot.” And hence, T-Series is seeking CCI’s intervention to resolve the ugly clash.
