New Delhi: The rainfall spell is gradually declining in parts of India as the southwest monsoon withdraws in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat from Monday. For the Delhi-NCR region, the further withdrawal from the remaining parts of northwest India is likely to be delayed and would be further delayed.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in part of Goa, Konkan region, coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and the northeast during the week in the daily weather bulletin.
Here’s the complete state-wise weather prediction:
Western India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over West India throughout the week, except in Saurashtra & Kutch and the Gujarat region. In these areas, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over the next two days, followed by scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain during the coming days.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over Konkan & Goa from Monday to Thursday (23rd-26th), over Madhya Maharashtra from Monday to Friday, and over Marathwada from Monday to Wednesday (23rd-25th).
Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over the Gujarat region on Sunday (22nd) and again from Wednesday to Friday.
North India
Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is very likely over northwest India throughout the week, except for West Rajasthan, where mainly dry weather is expected to prevail.
The dry and sunny weather prevailed in the national capital over the weekend, raising the temperatures and humidity since the wet spell in the previous weeks. The maximum temperature rose to 36°C on Sunday, which is two degrees above the normal for this time of year. This was the highest recorded temperature this month since September 4, when it reached 36.2 degrees Celsius.
East and Northeast India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Odisha, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, and Sikkim. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over Bihar and Jharkhand for the next three days, followed by scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the same region during the subsequent four days.
Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is also likely over northeast India during the next two days, followed by fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over the region during the next five days.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from Monday to Saturday, and over Odisha from Monday to Thursday (23rd-26th). Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience isolated heavy rainfall from Tuesday to Saturday, while sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and Jharkhand are likely to see heavy rains from Wednesday to Friday.
Heavy rainfall is also predicted over Gangetic West Bengal on Wednesday and Thursday, and over Bihar on Friday and Saturday.
South India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Coastal Karnataka throughout the week. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the week, while scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely over the rest of the southern peninsular region.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over South Interior Karnataka on Sunday and Monday (22nd-23rd), over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe on Monday and Tuesday, and over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam till Wednesday. Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka can expect isolated heavy rainfall till Tuesday.
