New Delhi: A woman fell into a 100-foot gorge while taking a selfie at Borne Ghat on Ungar Road in Maharashtra’s Satara district.
The incident happened when she was reportedly taking a selfie during her visit to the area. The area has been witnessing heavy rainfall for days. While taking a selfie at the hilltop, she slipped and fell while taking the selfie with her phone.
After the news spread in the area, the locals managed to rescue the woman using a rope. The rescue operation was recorded on video and has since gone viral on social media people appreciating the efforts of the locals to save the woman.
To complete the rescue operation successfully locals threw a thick rope down the gorge and a man descended to lift the woman. While several men wearing raincoats can be seen pulling the rope a man holding the woman successfully rescued the woman. The identification of a woman is not known but it is believed that she along with her family had come to the area for their holidays.
She was heard crying out in pain as she was brought back up by the local rescuers. The woman has been admitted to a local hospital where she is receiving treatment. Although she sustained multiple injuries and remains in critical condition, she is reported to be out of danger.
