Meanwhile, the rescue unfolded unexpectedly for two flatmates, Adityam Tyagi, 26, and Nitish Tandon, 29, both residents of the same society. It was a seemingly typical day off for the duo, who had just begun their morning routine when they heard alarming screams from outside. At first, Nitish, an insurance professional, thought little of the situation, opting to continue brushing his teeth. However, Adityam sensed something was wrong and decided to investigate. What he saw from their 10th-floor balcony was chilling, a man hanging to the edge of the 12th-floor balcony, seconds from falling.
Without hesitation, Adityam alerted Nitish, and the two rushed upstairs. Arriving at the 12th floor, they found the man in a precarious position. Acting swiftly, Adityam grabbed the man’s arms, while Nitish secured his legs, pulling him to safety.
“It all happened so fast,” Adityam said. “I knew I couldn’t do it alone, so I yelled for Nitish, and together, we managed to save him.”
Later that day, the man’s family arrived, overwhelmed with gratitude for the two young men who had saved their son. “They kept calling us his saviors,” Nitish shared. Meanwhile, in the aftermath, Adityam and Nitish have been humorously dubbed “the red T-shirt guy” and “the guy with the toothbrush” for their roles in the daring rescue, which has made them local heroes.
