Dehradun: Turning a calamity into opportunity, a group of Gujaratis on Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand created a hilarious moment when group members started playing Garba on the road, finding their route blocked amid heavy rains and landslides on 14 September.

As Uttarakhand has been reeling under poor weather conditions and rain-induced disasters over the past few weeks, a large number of pilgrims have been stuck at several places on Char Dham pilgrimage routes due to landslides and rockfalls at several places. Amidst such landslides, a group of Gujaratis stranded in Uttarakhand, didn’t let circumstances diminish their spirit. Instead, they entertained themselves by dancing garba on a scenic road.

As per the available information, this video was shot on 14 September when this group was heading towards Gangotri shrine in Uttarakhand. Suddenly, this route was blocked after a landslide blocked the route near Barkot and caused an 8 to 10 km traffic jam on the route to Gangotri.

Random Gujjus in a very remote village united together to make the best of the time available,” Viraj said.
