Prayagraj: A 21-member international delegation from ten countries visited the sacred Sangam in Prayagraj on Thursday. The delegation had arrived in Prayagraj on Wednesday evening to experience the grandeur of Maha Kumbh Mela.
The delegation, invited by External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division of Ministry of External Affairs, is part of an effort to share India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage with the world.

Delegations from 10 countries
The delegation includes representatives from Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UAE.
The delegation arrived at Tent City in Arail on Wednesday evening. This special accommodation, developed by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, provides all facilities to host dignitaries.
On Wednesday evening, the group explored the sprawling Maha Kumbh Mela area through a heritage walk. This walk offered a glimpse into the cultural and historical significance of Prayagraj, showcasing its deep-rooted traditions and spiritual history. The day ended with a traditional dinner and time to rest at the Tent City, where the visitors experienced the hospitality of Uttar Pradesh.
Foreign delegation’s visit to Prayagraj
On Thursday morning, the delegation participated in one of the most sacred rituals of the Kumbh – taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet. The dip, considered a spiritually purifying act, is the highlight of the visit.
The delegation also took an aerial tour of Maha Kumbh Mela area in a helicopter. This ride provided a breathtaking view of the vast congregation of devotees, the event, and the temporary city created to accommodate millions of visitors.
