New Delhi: Comeback man Washington Sundar continued his remarkable show with the ball on the second day of the second Test match against New Zealand in Pune on Friday. After a remarkable 7-wickets haul in the first innings of the first day of the Test, Washington once again stood firm on the second day completing his first-ever 10-wicket haul in Tests.
Sundar contributed with four more wickets in the second innings to take his tally to 11 wickets at stumps on Day 2. New Zealand were 198/5, leading India by a massive 301 runs when stumps were called on Friday at the MCA stadium. Washington, meanwhile, led India’s bowling attack causing trouble for the Kiwis batters.
Rachin Ravindra’s wicket standout moment
While all of his wickets were special, one of the main scalp caught the attention of all the spectators. in the 22nd over of the innings, Sundar bowled a sensational ripper to get rid of sensational Rachin Ravindra for the second time in the match. The Indian bowler bowled a deceptive ball that skidded through the and went on to hit the stumps of the batter.
The ball sneaked under Ravindra’s bat and crashed his off stumps resulting in his dismissal for just 9 runs. The Kiwi batter attempted a shot, which seemed to be aggressive but failed to do so against a classic delivery.

Meanwhile, New Zealand still have 5 wickets in hand with Tom Blundell and Glenn Phillips on the crease for the visitors. While Blundell is on 30, Phillips is giving him company on 9 runs. The Kiwis would aim at swelling the lead as much as possible on the third day so as to give India a very tough and unachievable target to chase.
