An ocean of faith, says VP
Describing Maha Kumbh as an ocean of faith, the VP further wrote: “The sacred dip at this confluence, enriched with the divine chants of Anant Shri Vibhushit Shrimad Madhv Gaudeshwar Vaishnavacharya Dr Shri Pundarik Goswami Ji Maharaj, was a profound experience filled with the essence of eternal culture, social harmony, and faith. Maha Kumbh is not just a festival; it is an ocean of faith, a living symbol of India’s eternal culture and spiritual consciousness. The Kumbh is a gathering of humanity inspired by the values of our civilisation, its nobility, spirituality, and the simplicity of eternity.”
Dhankhar commended Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for the “excellent” arrangements made for the Maha Kumbh, stating that such an event showcases India’s rich cultural heritage and administrative prowess.
“This is historic. To date, so many people have never come together anywhere on Earth. The arrangements and the work done by the administration are excellent… I am overwhelmed. I had never imagined that such an event could be organised in India,” Dhankhar said while talking to reporters.
VP highlights the scale of the gathering
Highlighting the scale of the gathering, he further said, “The number of people who have arrived at the Maha Kumbh is almost equal to the population of the United States of America. This is truly astonishing.”
Despite a tragic stampede incident that claimed at least 30 lives, Dhankhar lauded the efficiency with which the situation was handled, reflecting the resilience and preparedness of the administration.
He also highlighted the infrastructure improvements made for the event, including the construction of over one lakh toilets and the provision of high-quality food for the pilgrims. “When I took the dip, it was the happiest moment of my life. I’ve realised that there is no country like India in the world. Yogi ji has shown that with dedication, capability, cultural knowledge, and a spirit of service to the nation, miraculous achievements are possible,” Dhankhar said.
Arriving in Prayagraj via helicopter, the Vice President was warmly received by CM Yogi Adityanath. He then proceeded to Arail Ghat, boarding a cruise boat to reach the Triveni Sangam. During the serene boat ride, he also fed birds.
