New Delhi: Vinesh Phogat, Nitish Kumar, Pawan Kalyan, and Chirag Paswan were among the top searched Indians on Google in 2024 over their involvement and activities in the public domain, leading to the public figures making headlines for various reasons.
While Phogat dominated news titles over her leading the athletes’ protest and later winning the assembly election in Haryana, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also in the spotlight owing to the political climate in the country due to elections.
Kalyan too made his political debut, first by floating his own Jan Sena party and then getting elected to the Andhra Pradesh assembly, becoming the deputy chief minister.
The actor-turned-politician has had a standout year, largely due to his political journey. As a result of his remarkable achievements, he became the most googled Indian star globally and the second most searched person on Google.
Another political figure who made their way to the list is Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan. He was in the spotlight over the performance of his party in the Lok Sabha elections despite a faction of it aligning with his estranged uncle Pashupati Kumar, winning five Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
