Indore: A 17-year-old boy allegedly drove his car into a woman and girl who were drawing rangolis outside their homes in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The accident occurred on Monday evening in the Aerodrome police station area, leaving the victims—21-year-old Priyanshi Prajapat and her 14-year-old sister, Navya Prajapat—seriously injured.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vinod Kumar Meena, the car was speeding when it struck the sisters. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. However, police later arrested him in the nearby Betma area and seized the vehicle involved in the accident.
“The novice car driver told the investigators that he was 17 years old. We are trying to confirm his age. He was driving the car of one of his acquaintances,” Meena said.
The vehicle belonged to one of the driver’s acquaintances. As the investigation continues, appropriate legal actions are being pursued against the teenager.
The victims were rushed to the hospital following the accident, with reports indicating that one of them remains in critical condition. The shocking hit-and-run incident was captured on CCTV, and footage has circulated on social media.
