Salem: A physical education teacher from a private school in Tamil Nadu’s Salem district has been suspended after a video showing him attacking students over poor performance in the inter-school football match held in the district recently.

In the viral video, Annamalai, a PE teacher at a private higher secondary school in Kolathur, Salem district, was seen assaulting students. He was seen harassing the students by furiously kicking them with his shoe foot and slapping them on the cheek, in full public view while school teachers and many students stood around. The students who participated in the competition sat on their knees and cried.

District Collector suspends accused physical education teacher Annamalai
The parents were shocked to see this on their cell phones after a former student, who was shocked by the incident, took a video on his cell phone and posted it on social media. Parents who saw their children being kicked and slapped on the cheek by a teacher have demanded the school education department take strict action against the teacher.
Following this, Salem District Collector Brinda Devi has taken action by suspending the concerned physical education teacher Annamalai.
