Uttarakhand CM takes holy dip along with family
Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with his family also took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. “People from all over the world are coming here for a holy dip of faith. I consider myself fortunate to be able to come here. The Kumbh of 2027 will be in Haridwar, and we have already started preparations for it,” the Uttarakhand CM said, while talking to news agency ANI.
The Uttarakhand CM also shared his experience on social media platform X. In a post in Hindi, he wrote: “Today, I had the privilege of assisting my mother in taking a holy dip in the sacred waters of Triveni Sangam at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. This was one of the most precious and emotional moments of my life, beyond the grasp of words. The Vedas, scriptures, and Puranas state that no living being can ever repay the debt of a mother, for she is the very first source of our existence.
“A mother’s love is infinite, her affection immeasurable, and her blessings eternal. In this divine moment, I realised that a mother is not just the giver of life but a living pilgrimage. Serving and honouring her brings forth all virtues and blessings in life. This heartfelt experience will forever remain etched in my heart as a living embodiment of Sanatan culture, tradition, and maternal devotion.”
Over 42 crore devotees have taken holy dip at the Sangam so far. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, 84 lakh devotees took a holy dip on Sunday. Authorities are expecting that the number would cross 50 crore by February 26.
