New Delhi: There is no denying that Pushpa 2: The Rule and Chhaava are two of the most anticipated films of 2024. Both movies were set for an intense Box Office clash, with the Allu Arjun starrer hitting the silver screen on December 5, 2024, and the Vicky Kaushal film releasing in cinemas on December 6, 2024. However, it now appears that this theatrical battle will be avoided.
According to a Mid-Day report, the makers of Chhaava are now considering a different release date. A source quoted by the media outlet stated that it made more sense to release Chhaava when no other major film is scheduled to air as it is an extremely ambitious project for the team. But, there is no official confirmation about the same so far.
Chhaava star cast
Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji, Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. The historical epic is believed to be an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film features music composed by AR Rahman with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
On the other hand, Pushpa 2: The Rule is being produced on a staggering budget, making it one of the most expensive Indian films to date. Directed by Sukumar, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. It is the sequel to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, which was a massive Box Office success and made Allu Arjun a national sensation.
