The Vice President particularly praised the launch of the innovative Single Window Clearance System, a transformative initiative that simplifies the approval process by enabling all necessary clearances to be obtained from a single platform.
Responding to a question raised by MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma in Rajya Sabha regarding the implementation of the Single Window Clearance System, the Union Mnister G Kishan Reddy outlined the ongoing digital transformation in the coal sector.

Extensive digitization in mining processes
The minister also highlighted that the sector is undergoing an extensive digitization of its end-to-end mining processes, leading to a significant increase in transparency and accountability. G Kishen Reddy also informed that various modules within the system have been operationalized successfully.
“The system has been successfully integrated with the Parivesh 1.0 portal of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Furthermore, it is set to be integrated with the upcoming Parivesh 2.0 portal and will be fully implemented in due course,” the Minister said in its reply.
Introduction of the Single Window Clearance System
The Union Minister also emphasized that the introduction of the Single Window Clearance System is a crucial step in furthering the transparency established through the auction regime initiated in 2015. Reddy assured the House that the government is committed to improving the system and providing robust support to allottees to ensure smooth operations.
The minister also mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has implemented numerous initiatives and reforms aimed at strengthening India’s domestic coal sector. He pointed out that before 2014, coal blocks were allocated arbitrarily, leading to the infamous Coalgate scandal. However, since the introduction of the auction regime, no coal block has been allotted without a transparent auction process, ensuring strict adherence to transparency and accountability.

The Vice President then remarked “The Single Window Coal System is amazing and Mines are our natural wealth. I think the Minister can be congratulated.”
