Vadodara: Giant crocodile creates logjam on busy road, rescued | Watch

Vadodara: Several crocodiles were seen strolling into various parts of the city as the waters of the Vishwamitri river overflowed and overflowed due to heavy rains in Vadodara city of Gujarat. There was a heavy traffic jam on Vadodara Kalaghoda Bridge even after the rain stopped as a 10-foot-long giant crocodile stood in between the road. As per TV9 Gujrati, the crocodile was roaming around the road for several hours. The forest department finally rescued the crocodile after some efforts. The department has rescued close to 35 crocodiles from several places this monsoon season.

Last month too, several videos surfaced on social media, in which crocodiles could be seen moving around residential areas of the city. In one such video published by PTI, a crocodile can be seen climbing the roof a house in the city’s Akota stadium area resulting in panic among residents of the area. Since the last few days, Vadodara has been facing severe flooding in several parts of the city after the Vishwamitri River flooded residential areas.

River crossed danger mark recently

The authorities have moved nearly 3,000 people, living in low-lying areas to safer places due to the flash floods. Recently, the river crossed the danger mark of 25 feet after heavy rains and the release of dam waters. The army was also called to help in relief operations, with six army columns helping in rescue and relief operations. As per Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel.

Another video from Telangana went viral

Another video also went viral in August from Telangana. In this video too, a a crocodile can be seen entering a house in Wanaparthy district the state, creating fear among residents. It was brought out after five hours of rescue operations. The crocodile was later released into Krishna River at Beechupally.
