New Delhi: The Government of India has finalized Uttarakhand’s tableau themed “Adventure Sports” for the Republic Day Parade 2025, to be showcased on Kartavya Path in New Delhi. Sharing this information, Director General of Information, Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari, stated that in October 2024, a total of 34 states and union territories submitted their proposals to the expert committee under the Ministry of Defence. During multiple meetings, Nodal Officer and Joint Director of Information, Mr. K.S. Chauhan, presented Uttarakhand’s tableau design, model, and music to the expert committee. After thorough evaluation, the Government of India, through a letter dated December 21, 2024, declared Uttarakhand’s tableau design, model, and music as outstanding, finalizing its selection.
This year, a total of 15 states’ tableaus have been selected for the Republic Day Parade, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chandigarh, and the union territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
The front portion of Uttarakhand’s tableau will depict a woman in traditional attire creating the famous Aipan Art. The middle and rear sections will showcase adventure sports like rock climbing, paragliding, bungee jumping, hill cycling, trekking, river rafting, skiing in Auli, and zip-lining and rock climbing in Rishikesh. Uttarakhand’s tableau is expected to be a major highlight of the parade.
