Dehradun: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, who addressed the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024 organized at Parade Ground on Thursday, said that his government is working towards implementing the country’s ‘first yoga policy’. The yoga policy will play an important role in bringing a new revolution in the field of health by bringing Ayurveda and yoga together on a wide scale.
Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for organizing this event in Dehradun, Dhami said that it is a matter of pride for us that representatives from more than 50 countries and more than 6000 experts are participating in this program held in our state. More than 250 stalls set up in the expo are giving evidence of the acceptance of Ayurveda at the global level.
The conference will promote mutual knowledge sharing
CM Dhami said that this conference will promote mutual knowledge sharing and various research works in the field of Ayurveda as well as new opportunities for cooperation and business.
Uttarakhand government continues to promote AYUSH
Highlighting the works undertaken by the state government in the field of AYUSH, the state government is continuously working to promote Ayurveda in the state. According to him, 300 AYUSH-based ‘Ayushman Arogya Kendras’ are currently operating in Uttarakhand. AYUSH consultation is being provided by more than 70 experts through e-Sanjeevani portal, he further added. 50-bed and 10-bed AYUSH hospitals are being set up in every district.
A model AYUSH village in every district
Referring to the establishment of a model AYUSH village in every district, he said the government is trying to promote the production of Ayurvedic herbs. He also told the gathering about the implementation of the ‘Uttarakhand AYUSH Policy’ to accelerate the production of AYUSH manufacturing, wellness, education, research, and production of medicinal plants in the state.
Request to set up the All-India Institute of Ayurveda in Uttarakhand
CM Singh Dhami said that the state government has requested the union ministry of AYUSH to set up the All-India Institute of Ayurveda in Uttarakhand. He said this institute will prove to be a milestone in the field of Ayurveda education and research. He appealed to the experts to promote the herbs of the state not only in their Hindi names, but also the English names. He said it will provide access to local herbs to the global market. He cited a herb which is known in local parlance as ‘Kilmode’. Most people do not know its English name ‘Barberies’, he said.
AYUSH and herbal products are being exported to more than 150 countries
Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the initiatives taken in the field of AYUSH during the last ten years have led to an eight-fold increase in the production of AYUSH products. Now AYUSH and herbal products are being exported to more than 150 countries of the world. According to him, Ayurveda is also moving forward by adopting technology like Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning tools.
