Dehradun: People in plain areas of Uttarakhand have experienced a rise in mercury particularly at day time amid bright sunshine on Sunday. Whereas, the hilly parts are battered by rains with a yellow alert has been sounded for rains and thunderstorms for most of the districts of Uttarakhand in the last three days.
Incessant rains in Uttarakhand wreaked havoc as many roads along with highways were blocked due to the landslides and debris accumulated on connecting routes.
People don’t get relief from rains
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain across the state. Heavy rain with thunder is expected in all districts of the Kumaon region, as well as in parts of Dehradun, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli districts in the Garhwal region. Additionally, heavy rain is predicted in the border districts of Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. There is a possibility of lightning, thunderstorms, and heavy to very heavy rain in all Kumaon districts as well.
The sky will be partially cloudy in the capital Dehradun today
On Sunday, the rise in temperature caused discomfort during the day in Dehradun. After several days of rain, the weather cleared on Sunday, leading to a significant increase in temperature. Meteorologists predict light rain in the plains and hilly districts of the state today, with a partially cloudy sky expected in Dehradun on Monday. Data shows that the maximum temperature in Dehradun reached 32.3°C, which is two degrees above normal, while the minimum night temperature was 23.2°C, three degrees higher than usual.

According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, these temperature fluctuations are due to changing weather patterns. Looking ahead, the weather is expected to remain clear across the state in October, with bright sunshine likely causing temperatures to rise from the plains to the mountains.
