Uttarakhand: Two killed, four injured as car falls into deep ditch in Mussoorie

Mussoorie: The accidents on Dehradun-Mussoorie highway are surging day by day as a car went out of control and fell into a deep ditch on Friday morning. In this accident, two people died and four people were injured. The people in the car are said to be residents of Noida (Uttar Pradesh).

This accident took place near Maggie Point on the highway. On receiving the information, the police and SDRF team rushed to the spot and rescued the four injured people and sent the dead bodies for post-mortem.

The police and SDRF team promptly arrived at the scene

As the information was received, a Tata Tiago car (UP 46M 6977) lost control and plunged into a deep gorge near Shivalik Maggi Point, between Kuthalgate and Kolukheet on Dehradun-Mussoorie highway. Upon receiving the information, the police and SDRF team promptly arrived at the scene. There were six people in the car; three managed to escape on their own and reached the road with minor injuries. The remaining three were trapped in the vehicle. The SDRF team successfully rescued them, but unfortunately, two of the trapped individuals died on the spot.

All the people in car are residents of Noida

After rescuing the injured people, police and SDRF personnel admitted them to the hospital for treatment, where their treatment is going on. All the people are said to be residents of Noida (Uttar Pradesh). These people were returning from Mussoorie, when their vehicle met with an accident. Later, the police informed the family members of the deceased about the incident, after which they also reached Mussoorie.

Uttarakhand is reeling under red alert for heavy rains

Amid a red alert sounded for seven districts in Uttarakhand including Dehradun, the whole state is battered by incessant rains since Wednesday night. This has triggered landslides and rockfalls at several places blocking the highways and other roads. In such a situation, a little negligence can prove fatal while driving in the hills.
