Dehradun: As the preparations for Maha Kumbh are in full swing in Prayagraj, along with the Uttar Pradesh government, other states are also gearing up to provide better transport facilities for the pilgrims willing to take holy dip.
In this sequence, Uttarakhand is also going to provide air, train and road connectivity to the people. People traveling to the pilgrimage city of Prayagraj from Uttarakhand can reach Prayagraj through air, train, and bus services to take a holy dip. The air service is set to begin on January 12.
Air services to Maha Kumbh city
Starting January 12, air services will begin from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun to Prayagraj. This flight, operating twice a week, will depart Dehradun at 4:25 pm and reach Prayagraj in approximately 2 hours. The return flight will depart Prayagraj at around 6:50 pm and reach Dehradun at 8:45 pm. Each flight can carry around 72 Kumbh pilgrims.
Trains to start for Prayagraj
In addition to flights, devotees can reach Prayagraj directly from Dehradun and Haridwar by train. Indian Railways will operate trains from Dehradun on January 18, January 21, and January 24. Additionally, on February 9, February 16, and February 23, trains will depart from Dehradun and Haridwar to Prayagraj. The departure time from Dehradun will be 8:10 am, and the return train from Prayagraj will leave at 6:30 am. Currently, three trains run from Dehradun to Prayagraj.
Buses to run for Prayagraj by Uttarakhand roadways
Bus services to Prayagraj will also be provided by Uttarakhand Roadways and Uttar Pradesh Roadways. Direct bus services from Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, and Kashipur to Prayagraj will start around January 10. Thus, devotees have multiple options to reach Prayagraj via roadways.
Uttarakhand’s pavilion at Maha Kumbh
Uttarakhand will have its pavilion at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025. The Prayagraj Mela Authority has allotted a 100×400 Sq ft plot of land in Sector-7 Kailashpuri Marg, Eastern Track Prayagraj, free of charge to the state of Uttarakhand. In this plot, a pavilion showcasing the rich culture of Uttarakhand will be decorated. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the generous land allotment.
