Dehradun: Uttarakhand government has started its preparation for the successful holding of the “Antrashtriya Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammellan” (APUS) to be held in Dehradun on January 12, 2025. The government will invite the migrant Uttarakhandis living abroad or in different states of the country at the proposed conference. The government hopes that the migrant Uttarakhandis may make their contribution in their own ways in the development of the hill state.
On Friday, the state’s chief secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with officers of different departments to review the preparation for the proposed conference. She has asked the officials to prepare an action plan within a week. She also gave tasks to the secretaries of departments concerned to handle various sessions of the conference.
Look for the possibilities of investment in different sectors
Chief secretary Raturi has directed the officials concerned to discuss the possibilities of investment in the state’s various sectors such as manufacturing, power generation, start-up, and others during different sessions to be held during the conference.
Migrant Uttarakhandis will share their views during various sessions
She has tasked the officials to ensure brainstorming sessions on tourism, agriculture, horticulture, rural development, higher education, skill development, health care, AYUSH, yoga and other subjects. She underlined the need for including the migrant Uttarakhandis as guest speakers at different sessions, besides the subject experts and officials.
Display the state’s folk culture, food, local handicrafts, and products
Chief secretary Raturi also expected the officials to pay full attention to ensure the best display of the state’s folk culture, food, local handicrafts, and products during the proposed conference. The secretaries of all the departments concerned will be appointed as nodal officers for each session to be organized during the conference.
Focus on cleanliness of the Dehradun city during conference
Chief secretary Raturi directed the district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, to make proper arrangements for cleanliness of the city, besides the venue. Proper parking arrangements will be also made near the venue. Liaison officers will be appointed to welcome the migrant Uttarakhandis coming from abroad. There will be proper arrangements for transport facilities, protocol, accommodation, and traffic during the Conference.
CM had launched the “Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell” earlier
Earlier, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had launched a website of the “Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell”. The cell is tasked to link the state government with the migrant Uttarakhandis living abroad or in different states of the country.
