Dehradun: Uttarakhand chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the additional chief secretary, principal secretaries, secretaries, In-charge secretaries, and all district Magistrates to ensure the compliance and effective implementation of the nine requests Prime Minister Narendra Modi made to the residents of Uttarakhand state and tourists coming to Uttarakhand from other states. PM Modi has made the nine requests in his video message delivered on the state’s 25th foundation day.
Regarding the compliance of PM’s first appeal to locals to preserve their cultural identity by teaching dialects like Garhwali, Jaunsari, and Kumauni, chief secretary Raturi has directed the higher education and school education department to prepare and submit an action plan regarding the preservation of local dialects like Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari.
One tree in the mother’s name
Similarly, the forest and environment department will submit an action plan regarding PM Modi’s another appeal to plant one tree in the mother’s name to protect the environment and fight climate change. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Uttarakhand chief minister also planted trees with his mother under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Conservation rivers
In his appeal to the locals, PM has underlined the need for the conservation of rivers. Now, chief secretary Raturi has instructed the Jalagam Department to prepare and submit an action plan to ensure effective implementation of the PM’s appeal.
Stay connected with your roots
To comply with the PM’s fourth request to the locals to stay connected with the villages, the chief secretary has sought an action plan from the general administration department. Prime Minister Modi had requested that “My fourth request is to stay connected with your roots, visit your villages regularly and after retirement, definitely visit your villages. Keep the relationship strong from there.”
Saving the old houses
She has directed the tourism department to prepare and submit an action plan to comply with the request made by the PM to the people of the state to preserve traditional houses in their villages. “My fifth request to the people of Uttarakhand is to save the old houses of your village, which you call Vivari houses. Do not forget these houses. By making them homestays, you can make them a means of increasing your income, ” PM Modi had mentioned in his speech.
Tourism department to create public awareness for cleanliness
In his first request PM had made to the people visiting the state from different parts of the country, PM expected them to give top priority to the cleanliness during their presence in the hill areas. chief secretary Radha Raturi has directed the Tourism Department to prepare and present an action plan for creating public awareness about the PM’s request.
Coordinate with departments concerned to comply with the PM’s appeal to tourists and pilgrims visiting the state
She directed the officials to coordinate with all the concerned departments to ensure compliance of the four requests made by PM Modi to the tourists and devotees coming from outside. PM Modi had also requested the tourists and pilgrims to avoid single use plastic in the Himalaya.
Publicize the PM’s four requests to tourists and pilgrims
Chief secretary Raturi has directed that all departments should take necessary action on the related points to comply with all the above appeals made by the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the overall development of the state. She has asked the officials to take appropriate action to widely publicize the requests made to the tourists coming from outside to Uttarakhand state by the PM.
