Dehradun: Uttarakhand congress’s Kedarnath Pratishtha yatra’s second phase is planned to start today on Thursday when an enhanced rain activity can be seen all over the state amid a red and a yellow alert sounded in many districts.
The second phase of this yatra is all set to start from Sitapur in Kedarnath valley and state Congress’ president Karan Mahara reached Kirtinagar on Wednesday, while proceeding towards Rudraprayag, and he was given a grand welcome by the Congress workers. This yatra will be concluded at Bhairav Temple after worshipping at Kedarnath shrine.
Mahara appealed to the Congress workers to join this yatra
Blaming the BJP government for shifting the revered temples of Uttarakhand in other parts of the country which will not be tolerated by congress. Mahara also appealed to the Congress workers to join the second phase of Kedarnath Pratishtha Yatra in maximum numbers.
This yatra will conclude in Kedarnath on 13 Sep
He also informed the Congress workers that this yatra will start from Sitapur to Kedarnath on Thursday, after the flag hoisting by Sevadal workers at 7:30 am in Sitapur. As per the plan, the Yatra will reach Kedarnath Dham late in the evening. After a night’s halt in Kedarnath, the Yatra will conclude with Jalabhishek in Kedarnath on the morning of 13 September.
BJP calls Congress’ Kedarnath Pratishtha Yatra a political sham
Whereas, the state BJP called this yatra only a political drama. Party’s state media in-charge Manveer Chauhan quipped that Congress’s yatra is not to save the reputation of Kedarnath but to save its own reputation. But it won’t make any impact on the people in Kedarnath and they are going to completely destroy the reputation of those doing politics in the name of Baba Kedar.
All the political drama is for Kedarnath by-polls
BJP’s spokesperson also alleged Congress for creating this fuss only for political advantage in forthcoming Kedarnath by-election. He blamed Congress for taking out only yatra when all the government machinery and the BJP organization were busy helping the disaster-affected people in cooperation with the local people.
Questioned Congress’s oppose of signboards put up in Kedar valley
Recently, state Congress opposed vehemently the signboards put up by villagers in Rudraprayag district banning the entry of outsiders for doing business in their villages. This BJP spokesperson also questioned congress’s stand and said, “If people in Rudraprayag and the hills are trying to save the prestige of their villages, then why is the Congress party opposing it? it is clear that Congress’s objection to the signboards put up in villages indicates that they are supporting the criminal elements who are spoiling the peaceful atmosphere in the hills.”
Congress commenced the ‘Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra’ on July 24
In protest against the proposed construction of a Kedarnath temple replica in Delhi’s Burari area, the Uttarakhand Congress commenced the ‘Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra’ on July 24. However, the yatra was suspended following a cloudburst incident in the Kedarnath valley on July 31. Now they are raising the issue of embezzlement in gold-plating in Kedranath’s sanctum sanctorum.
