Uttarkashi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today visited the Harshil-Mukhba area to inspect the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on 26 February, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Prime Minister’s visit would significantly boost winter tourism in Uttarakhand and contribute to the state’s prosperity.

PM’s visit would promote this region worldwide; Dhami
Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the picturesque natural beauty of the Harshil-Mukhwa area and expressed confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit would promote this region worldwide. He noted that the Prime Minister’s previous visits to Kedarnath Dham, Mana, and Adi Kailash had significantly increased the number of devotees and tourists visiting these places.
CM reviewed all arrangements from Harshil to Mukhba
During the field inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed all arrangements from Harshil to Mukhba, including the pandal, stage, and exhibition site for the proposed public meeting. He directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements were in place to make the Prime Minister’s visit memorable and well-organized. He also stressed the importance of showcasing the local culture and traditional heritage during the Prime Minister’s program to strengthen the state’s tourism.
Exhibition on winter tourist destinations, local products, and handicrafts
Chief Minister Dhami visited Mukhba village, the winter residence of Ganga, where he prayed at the Ganga temple and wished for the region and state’s happiness and prosperity. He also inspected preparations for an exhibition based on winter tourist destinations, local products, and handicrafts. The exhibition will be organized on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s visit.
Positive impact of the PM’s participation in events held in the past
Dhami also mentioned the positive impact of the Prime Minister’s participation in the Investors Summit, which resulted in MoUs for capital investment worth three and a half lakh crore rupees. The grounding of investment worth more than eighty thousand crore rupees has already begun in the state. Additionally, the Prime Minister’s inauguration of the National Games had proven fortunate for Uttarakhand, with the state achieving the seventh position this time, compared to the twenty-fifth position last time.
Plans to flag off a motorbike and ATV-RTV rally to Jadung
Uttarkashi district magistrate Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht provided updates on the arrangements being made for the Prime Minister’s visit. These include plans to flag off a motorbike and ATV-RTV rally to Jadung, PDA, and trekking expeditions to Janaktal and Mulingla to promote adventure tourism in the untouched and beautiful tourist places of the border area of Uttarakhand.

During his visit, Chief Minister Dhami was accompanied by senior officials, including Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary of Tourism Sachin Kurve, Additional Director General of Police V Murugeshan, and other dignitaries. The team reviewed the arrangements being made for the Prime Minister’s visit, ensuring everything was in order to welcome him. Several other officials were present during the inspection, including MLA Suresh Chauhan, Superintendent of Police Sarita Dobal, Chief Development Officer SL Semwal, Additional District Magistrate PL Shah, Divisional Forest Officer DP Baluni, and Superintending Engineer PWD Harish Pangati.
