Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 108 candidates selected for the post of Assistant Professor at a function held at the chief minister’s official residence in Dehradun on Tuesday.
The five subjects for which the candidates have been selected as Assistant Professors are Hindi, Chemistry, Geography, Zoology and Political Science.

Congratulating all the selected candidates, CM Dhami said the gift you received on Dhanteras festival will bring light of happiness in your life. The day of success in your life has come through hard work, dedication and commitment, CM Dhami further told the selected Assistant Professors. Dhami said teaching is not a normal job, but a big responsibility also.
18,500 youths got government jobs in the last three years
Referring to the youth power, he said higher education is a means to attain human resources. He added higher education shows the right path to youth power. CM Dhami recalled that his government has given government jobs to about 18,500 youths in the state in the last three years. He made it clear that the process for recruitments will be underway in future also.
Focus on strengthening higher education and developing infrastructure
CM Dhami further said his government is making all efforts to place Uttarakhand as the best state of the country. He also added his government is strengthening the education system, besides developing the infrastructure. 20 model colleges will be set up in the state. Women hostels, IT labs and Examination halls are being constructed. Under Gaurav scheme, 5000 students, who are studying in higher education institutions, will be given tri-level banking and financial training, besides their placement.
100 percent faculty in higher education
Higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat, who was present on this occasion, also congratulated the successful candidates for the post of Assistant Professor. He told the gathering that the higher education department has 100 per cent faculty, including 82 percent regular faculty and rest guest faculty. In the last seven years, buildings of 51 colleges were constructed. Six colleges are set to get their own buildings soon, he said.
