Dehradun: The upcoming Char Dham Yatra may be a bit expensive for the devotees in view of the demand of the Joint Rotation, which operates vehicles on the Char Dham Yatra, for an increase in the vehicle fare. Alongside, the rate revision of Kedarnath Heli services will soon to be decided by government amid the demand of 5% rate increase.
The plea of the Joint Rotation is that the state government had fixed the rates of the taxi-maxi as well the buses about three years ago. The Joint Rotation has demanded the state government to increase the rates now.
The transport department considers the demand for rate revision
The state’s transport department is considering the demand of the Joint Rotation for the rate revision. The State Transport Authority may take its decision on it very soon. The transport department had fixed the rates for the vehicles on Char Dham Yatra route for the first time in the year 2022. Considering the vehicles of Char Dham Yatra different from the general vehicles plying in the state, the fare was determined according to the categories of the vehicles. In this, the category was decided based on the price of the vehicles.
Chances for the increase in the fare of Kedarnath Heli services
Meanwhile, there may be an increase of five percent in the Kedarnath Heli services. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has entered into an agreement with nine aviation companies for the operation of Heli services. The UCADA has almost completed its preparations for the operation of Kedarnath Heli services from Guptkashi, Fata and Sirsa helipads during the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. The rate revision of Kedarnath Heli services will be decided at the government level soon.
