Dehradun: Uttarakhand assembly may go paperless from the upcoming budget session. The budget session is likely to be held in Dehradun. The works on e-assembly application are underway in the Bharaisain assembly building of the state’s summer capital Gairsain.
In view of the ongoing e-assembly application works in Bhararisain assembly building of the state’s summer capital Gairsain, the speaker of the Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri has requested the state government to hold the upcoming budget session of the state assembly in Dehradun. The works on the e-assembly application may be completed in the coming three to four months in the Bharaisain assembly hall.
Speaker inspected the assembly hall in Dehradun
On Thursday, the speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri inspected the assembly hall in Dehradun. She told reporters that the works are underway to hold a paperless session of the state assembly in Dehradun and Gairsain under e-NeVA (National e-Vidhan Application) programme.

Dehradun assembly hall is almost ready to go paperless from the upcoming budget session while the works on e-Vidhan Application are underway in the Bhararisain assembly of the state’s summer capital Gairsain. Due to the ongoing works in the Bhararisain assembly hall, the furniture is kept outside. The sound system is being improved there.
Budget session to be held in February
The budget session of the state assembly is scheduled to be held in the February month. If the budget session is held in Dehradun, it will go completely paperless for the first time. It means there will be no use of paper during the session of the state assembly. Dehradun assembly is equipped with e-Vidhan system. It will help the members of the house and the state assembly employees in their work through digital medium. Similarly, the introduction of a paperless system will ensure transparency in the legislative works and save the resources. It will also be a significant step towards environmental conservation. The members of the house and employees of the state assembly will be given training to work under the new system.
