Dehradun: Uttarakhand aims for a new record with 6,500 registrations for the upcoming 10th World Ayurveda Congress to be held in Dehradun from 12 December.
The event, starting on December 12, may surpass last year’s attendance of 5,102 delegates in Goa. This year, Uttarakhand is hosting the World Ayurveda Congress for the first time, with growing interest reflected in the registrations.
6500 registrations have been completed
Uttarakhand Ayush Secretary Ravinath Raman confirmed that 6,500 registrations have been completed, with preparations for the event in full swing, aiming for an unprecedented gathering. Uttarakhand is also focused on the number of participating countries and representatives. Last year, 53 countries attended, with 295 foreign delegates. This year, Uttarakhand anticipates participation from more than 54 countries and a higher number of foreign delegates.
Everything in World Ayurveda Congress to have “Uttarakhandi” imprint
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has emphasized that every aspect of the World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo 2024, from food to entertainment, will reflect a ‘Uttarakhandi’ touch. “Uttarakhand is the land of AYUSH. It is our good fortune that this world-class event of Ayurveda is being held in Uttarakhand. I hope that the brainstorming of subject experts will awaken the world in the field of Ayurveda. Regarding the event’s organization, CM Dhami noted its importance for Uttarakhand: “This occasion will showcase deep thought and discussions on Ayurveda while promoting Uttarakhand’s culture to the nation and the world.”

The event is set for December 12-15 at the Parade Ground in Dehradun. Measures have been taken to highlight hill culture. Ayush Secretary Ravinath Raman mentioned that delegates will experience Uttarakhand’s culture through the food and cultural programs. “Hilly dishes will be served to delegates from India and abroad, with a four-day menu prepared for this. Cultural programs, including Mangal Gayan and Chholiya dances, are scheduled on two dates,” stated the Chief Minister.

Calling Uttarakhand, the land of Yoga and Ayush, CM Dhami described the 10th World Ayurveda Congress as an effort to elevate the state’s identity in Ayurveda. He expressed hope that the ideas and discussions at the global event will resonate not just in India but worldwide. During the event, the message of ‘Sarve Santu Niramayah’ will be promoted. CM Dhami also reflected on the significance of Ayurveda and Ayush during the COVID-19 pandemic.
