New Delhi: The craze of making reel claimed lives of three members of the same family in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur. The incident occurred when they came under the wheels of a train while they were posing for a reel. Another person, who was with them, has been left seriously injured.
Sources said that the four were busy making reel on the railway tracks when a fast approaching train ran over the three. The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Mohammed Ahmed, his 22-year-old wife Ayesha, and their 2-year-old son. They were crossing the railway track near Keoti. They all were residents of Mohalla Sheikh Tola of Laharpur Nagar, Kotwali area. The injured has been admitted to the hospital. The railway officials have said that the matter will be investigated.
The accident occurred near Kevti village on Handsa Hargaon railway section. The bodies of the three victims have been taken to Lakhimpur district headquarters for post-mortem examination.
The victims had gone from Laharpur to Hargaon on Tuesday to see a fair. After the incident, gloom descended on the house. A large number of people gathered outside the house of the couple and their families and offered condolences.
Sources said that the deceased were making reel on the railway truck. However, the family has said they were not making reel. The family said they had gone to Kevti village to see a fair and while crossing the railway track, a train suddenly came due to which the accident took place. Railway officials have assured of investigation into the matter.
