During his time in India, the Vice President will engage in high-level meetings, including a significant bilateral discussion with PM Narendra Modi. According to certain media reports, this visit by JD and Usha Vance will largely be private. However, they are going to participate in various cultural engagements at iconic Indian landmarks, showcasing the importance of people-to-people ties between the two nations.
Their arrival coincides with the anticipated visit of US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, underscoring a broader diplomatic push by the United States in the region. It also marks Vice President Vance’s first official trip to India in his current role, further emphasizing the strategic importance of the partnership. This visit from the US Vice President comes as President Trump’s tariff war wages across the globe.
