New Delhi: Visiting US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and handed him a letter by US President Joe Biden. PM Modi along with Jack Sullivan discussed significant advancement in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership over the last four years.
The two also discussed cooperation in other areas technology, defence, space, civil nuclear, clean energy, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
PM Modi appreciates letter from Biden
PM Modi also recalled his various meetings with President Biden during his US visit in September 2024 for the Quad Leaders’ Summit. PM Modi praised US President contributions towards strengthening Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi also appreciated a letter from President Biden given over to him by NSA Sullivan. PM Modi has assured continued cooperation with United States to benefit people of both the nation.
Sullivan meet with NSA Ajit Doval
Earlier in the day, Jack Sullivan met India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Sullivan was accompanied by a delegation of senior US government officials.
“The current visit gave the two NSAs an opportunity to review ongoing progress in their high-level dialogue, including in diverse fields such as Defence, Cyber and Maritime Security. The two NSAs have engaged regularly in a high-level dialogue through extensive discussions on a broad bilateral, regional and global agenda,” said a joint statement.
The joint statement also emphasised on cooperation between the two nations in a range of areas.
“Following the launch of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) by Prime Minister Modi and President Joseph Biden on the side lines of the Quad Summit in Tokyo on 24 May 2022, the two NSAs have driven concrete initiatives between the two countries across a range of areas including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Telecommunications, Defence and Space,” the joint statement added.
