New Delhi: UP Yoddhas will begin their Pro Kabaddi League season 11 campaign against Dabang Delhi in the Gachibowl Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on Monday, October 21. Delhi won their season opener match against U Mumba, defeating them in a dominant way by 36-28. Delhi’s reading duo Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar were the highlights of the match.
Surender Gill’s Yoddhas will have to prove themselves this season. They released their star raider Pardeep Narwal and defender Nitesh ahead of PKL season 11. Yoddhas have a big fanbase but have never won the PKL trophy.
Both teams had a neck-to-neck contest against each other as they collided 11 times face-to-face. Six times Yoddhas won the match while five times Delhi had the upper hand against Yoddhas.
In the second match of the night, Defending champions Puneri Paltan will go against three-time PKL champion Patna Pirates. Paltan proved themselves again why they are the most balanced side in the PKL 11. They defeated previous edition runner-up Haryana Steelers in their last match by 35-25.
Patna will play their season opener match against Paltan. Patna will be led by Shubham Shinde and they have a dominant history against Paltan’s. Both teams collided 22 times against each other, where Pirates were victorious 13 times, while Paltan won only 5 matches against Pirates.
It will be a rematch of the previous edition semi-final, Paltan won the last match against Pirates but Pirates will look to bounce back and start their PKL 11 campaign on a high note.
