While Apple’s plans to launch the new MacBook and iMac series are still under wraps, several leaks and rumours are hinting towards imminent launches soon. The iPhone 16 series launch was glorified with Apple Intelligence and now the new family of the Mac lineup is expected to highlight artificial intelligence, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested. Apple’s Mac sales have seen a drop to 27 per cent in the last fiscal year. Even though M3 chips powered the previous Mac lineup, however, the sale didn’t result as expected due to the lack of substantial improvements over its predecessor M2 chipset. Now, the launch of the new Mac lineup is expected at a critical time.
As per the people familiar with the matter, Apple is nearing production of the next generation chipset — the M4, which is expected to come in three varieties while updating every new Mac model, Mark Gurman suggested. With this new chipset, Apple is aiming to take a major step to bring AI to all of its products. What does Apple is expected to launch this year? Read on.
Apple’s Upcoming launches
As per Bloomberg’s report, Apple is expected to release an updated computer lineup starting late this year, which may extend to early next year too. Apple’s new lineup is tipped to bring iMacs, a new 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end MacBook Pro in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, and Mac Minis. All of these products are expected to come with M4 chip. Later in 2025, Apple is planning to bring more M4 Macs throughout the year, including a 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air.
Apple’s MacBook Launch: When To Expect
The rumours about the new MacBooks and Macs have been there even before the launch of the iPhone 16 series. However, the question remains — when? Based on the latest rumours, Mark Gurman suggests that the launch is expected soon, possibly on October 30. “Apple is inviting media/creators at different appointment times throughout the day on 10/30 in my town of LA — they seemingly aren’t bringing a group together to watch a keynote video. So the announcement is online only (video and press releases), as I’ve been indicating,” Gurman mentioned in an X post. However, we are still waiting for the official Apple’s announcement regarding the upcoming launch event.
