Bahraich: A massive search operation has been launched in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh to locate wolf man-eater wolves who have killed 8 villagers. Several cases have been reported of wolf attack have been reported in various villages that claimed the lives of many people and injuring others in nearly two months.
The deceased include 7 children. Local villagers reported that the man-eater wolves barges into the house and took away the children. The has been panic among people due to the fear of these wild animals.
Villagers are forced to keep a vigil in their localities, both in day and night, to avoid wolf attack. Meanwhile, the forest department staff has captured three wolves by placing the cages. However, it’s not clear how many more wolves are still at large.
On Tuesday too, a pack of wolves entered a house and attacked a man. He was saved by alert family members who used batons to scare away the man-eater wolves. The villagers, who are armed with batons and torches, have also joined the forest staff to search for the wolves.
People say they are living under constant fear and the situation has become extremely dangerous for them. Villagers said the man eating wolves have taken away their children and wolves. “Forest department officials are out trying to capture them but we don’t know how many more are there in the jungle,” said a villager.
