New Delhi: In a horrific incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a youth sexually assaulted his maternal grandmother in Shahjahanpur district of the state. The criminal incident took place in Khutar locality on Thursday night, police said on Friday.
MK Awasthi, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Shahjahanpur, said the crime took place when the accused took the grandmother to his room and raped her.
Accused threatened to kill grandmother
The accused has been identified as Akhilesh Kumar. Police also said that the accused threatened to kill his grandmother if she tried to inform anyone, said a report in Times of India.
Police said the victim has been sent to hospital for medical examination. Meanwhile, the accused has been booked for rape and death threats. A hunt has been launched by the police to nab the accused.
Another report in Dainik Bhaskar said that the accused also thrashed his 75-year-old grandmother when she tried to resist the sexual assault.
