New Delhi: It was a narrow escape for a driver and a helper as the duo tried to cross over a bridge flooded with water. The incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district. As they drove across, the truck got stuck and sank in the middle. The video of the incident, captured by an onlooker from a distance, has gone viral.
Around 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh are facing flood-like situation due to torrential rains, and Mahoba is one of them. The bridge located near the Budhera village in Mahoba had almost inundated because the Keolari river is in spate. Keolari has crossed the danger mark.
On Wednesday afternoon, many people were left stranded as the bridge was flooded. Several vehicles also didn’t try to cross the bridge as it was dangerous. However, the dumper truck defied the warning sounded by the local residents. The dumper driver tried to cross the bridge and as it covered a short distance, it started sinking.

In the video, the truck can be seen being driven slowly in the water. Initially, it seems it would make it to the other side. However, suddenly, it starts going down after hitting into something. The truck starts tilting to one side until its cabin sinks. The wheels become invisible and the chassis also goes under water. Just the tailgate remains above.
The dumper’s driver and the helper had a close shave and they could be seen swimming to safety in another video.
