UP BJP to finalise names for boards, commissions; focus on women, backward, and SC-ST commissions

New Delhi: UP BJP will hold its core committee meeting on Monday evening to finalise the names for various boards and commissions. The main focus would be on women, backward, and SC-ST commissions.

The meeting will be held at chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence at 6pm and will be attended by both the deputy chief ministers, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with state BJP chief Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh.

A meeting on the organisation level has already taken place and BJP has asked its regional heads for a list of probable names. The core committee will finalise the names.

Why this promptness?

A discussion on the disastrous Lok Sabha results in UP, where the party was reduced to 33 seats, highlighted that leaders and workers were feeling neglected. This is why preparations are underway to fill the vacant posts in corporations and commissions as soon as possible.

At least 200 party leaders and workers will be adjusted in the commissions and boards.

A discussion on the upcoming bypolls in the state is also on the cards. Sanjay Nishad’s party and RLD are vying for two and one seat respectively.

Meeting of “Super 30” at Yogi’s house

A meeting of “Super 30”  will precede the core committee meeting at Yogi Adityanath’s home. The “Super 30” is a group of ministers to look after the bypolls. One assembly seat will be looked after by a team of three ministers.

The ministers, who were on the tour of the assembly seats, would submit the report. Both the deputy ministers will take part in the meeting.
