Prayagraj: In a tragic incident reported from Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, a 3-year-old girl died while she was inflating a balloon. The incident took place in Mohalla Imamganj under Nawabganj police station. The doctor said that the child identified as Saira died after pieces of balloon got stuck in her windpipe.
The tragic accident took place when the victim was visiting her maternal grand parents. Saira’s grandfather Rais got her a balloon from the market to play. However, when she inflated the balloon, it got bust and Saira suddenly fell on the ground.
Balloon pieces got stuck in girl’s windpipe
As soon as she fell down, foam started to emerge from her mouth creating a panic at home. Saira was immediately rushed to a local clinic by her parents where doctors declared her dead. It was claimed that the girl died after small pieces of balloon got stuck in her house.
The doctors also said that the girl had difficulty in breathing after her windpipe was choked with balloon pieces. Dr Sachin Jain, ENT department head from Motilal Nehru Medical College, said kids inflate the balloon with their mouth and when it gets busts, the small balloon pieces gets inside the wind pipe due to which kids had difficulty in breathing. Similar thing may have happened in this case too, Jain said.
